Go all the way to the platform elevator if you're going to gallery place. It'll drop you off right at the transfer point and the arena entrance. Also, metro blows and its never on time.

Actually the longest escalator on the Red Line is at the Wheaton Station with more than 370 steps and yet neither has taken a life. @imateomorris

You should really check out dealchicken.com. It doesn't make escalators work but it does save you money.

The third door of the third car headed to Shady Grove (from downtown) will let you off at the foot of the escalators!

The long escalators are frequently broken. Ask the newspaper distributors if they're working.

If you're heading toward Glenmont after 8 pm, you're gonna be waiting for at least half an hour, no matter what the ETA is. Bring an ipod or a book or a razor to slit your wrists with.
