Take a slide down the corner of the dam. That is, the corner farther from the access road. And keep your arms in.

Beach hours (in season) is from 11-7, or whenever they close in the afternoon@. No dogs during those hours, although there is a great walk from the lake to the Robert Frost house, 4 miles round trip.
