Chew Boon Lay was 1 of Singapore’s early pioneers who owned extensive rubber plantations in the area during the early 20th century. The area is named after him. Source: Infopedia

Duck noodles. What I enjoyed from Heng Huat Boon Lay Boneless Duck Noodles 01-140 is their base sauce. Light yet flavourful. Meat was tender. Soup was herbal. Copious amount of tau geh (bean sprouts)

Chai tow kway. Boon Lay Fried Carrot Cake 01-125 fires up tasty, omelette-base dish. Support elderly couple who operates the stall

Ngoh hiang & fried prawn crackers. Feeling peckish? Xin Sheng 01-164 serves decent fried ngoh hiang snacks. Price adds up quite quickly, so watch what u pick

Fried Hokkien Mee. Good stuff from Ho Huat #01-135. The way I like it: really wet. Fresh prawns (none of that frozen seafood)
