This is a must stop when visiting Honolulu. As an American citizen or world citizen, it's a must.

The top attraction on the island, commemorating the heroes and survivors of Pearl Harbor. There are 4 different sites to visit - all great for families to soak in some history.

First stop before the USS Arizona. Let the solemness begin. It's humbling and surreal to stand on the same ground which men and women died for me, this country.

Do the audio tour, quicker than guided tour and plenty of info. Get there at 7, and do the Arizona memorial ASAP. Dont forget to leave a few hrs to check out the Missouri, and Pacific aviation museum

They pull extra people into the Arizona Memorial theater if all the seats aren't full. Don't want to wait for hours? Just wait near the theater and you'll probably get in way ahead of time!

Learn about WWII and the bombing of Pearl Harbor. You can actually visit the museums here for free and best to get here first thing in the morning.

Get there early to avoid the crowd. No bags allowed inside. Bag check is to the far right of the entrance and costs $3. You can only bring in a camera, phone, wallet & bottle of water.

You're not allowed to bring bags of any sort, but if you have a lot of things you want to bring or carry then you can buy something cheap from the gift shop and safely carry your things.

If you want to take a boat out to the USS Arizona memorial, arrive early in the morning - tickets are free, but they go fast! If you want more in-depth history, buy the $7.50 audio tour.
