Der Bogen wurde 1828 von John Nash entworfen u ist ein aus weißem Carrara-Marmor bestehendes Monument. Ist eigentlich erst aus der Nähe wirklich beeindruckend. Von entfernt wirkt es etwas deplatziert

Unter dem Bogen durften ursprünglich nur Mitglieder der Britischen Königsfamilie sowie der King’s Troop, Royal Horse Artillery hindurchreiten.

Der Bogen steht nahe dem Ort, an dem lange Zeit der „Galgen von Tyburn“ stand. Die nächstgelegene U-Bahn-Station heißt ebenfalls „Marble Arch“; dort halten Züge der Central Line.

Nice area to stay in for tourists, nearby Undergrounds, Bus Stations, Tourists Centers or shops. Oxford Street is full of shopping & restaurants. Taxis are everywhere. Nearby Hyde & Green Parks.
