The official parking lot is tiny, but there's additional parking just up the street. Be careful though, if you park anywhere else, you may be ticketed.

Max and I (my German Shepherd) parking Rio Del Mar at the platform and then walk to the hidden Beach, the best hour and a half of our day

Very small parking lot but beautiful beach and not crowded at all. Nice waves after 3pm.

Dogs can run off-leash here! But be sure to bring poop bags or you'll get berated by residents and other dog owners.
